This is my first attempt at making a giant cookie in a cast iron skillet.. here goes!
Preheat Oven to 350F
Oil skillet and put in oven to preheat
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 c butter
Mix Into butter
- 1/2 c white sugar
- 3/4 c brown sugar (packed)
- 1 egg (room temperature)
- 2 tsp vanilla
Mix butter mixture into flour mixture
- 1.5 c chocolate chips
- 1 c chopped nuts (I used ground English Chestnuts)
Spread into skillet
Bake approximately 35 minutes >>> edges are browned
Remove skillet and let cool 20 minutes on wire rack.
Cut into small slices as you would a pie.
I bet it tastes great with ice cream!
Very tasty … the above slice is way too big for me. I barely ate a third of it! But yummy
Oh.. And when the cookie is cool, remove from pan so that pan can be wiped clean and put away. I put my cookie on a plate and covered it with plastic wrap. The pan cleaned up like a charm!
